Corporate and commercial expert

A partner in the corporate and commercial group, David is recognised  by Chambers and Partners as an impressive and highly-skilled corporate and commercial lawyer. Principally involved in transactional work (including mergers & acquisitions, corporate finance, fundraising and venture capital transactions) and agreements between shareholders with complicated share structures, David has a reputation for providing prompt, “sensible and pragmatic” solutions and balancing attention to detail with a no-nonsense approach to getting deals done.

David is the firm’s training principal and as such takes a close interest in the progress of each of the trainee solicitors in the firm and the training that they receive.

Experience

Prior to becoming a partner at B P Collins, David was a partner at a large firm in the City of London (where he worked for over 20 years) . He has worked across a wide spectrum of industries including insurance, sports, entertainment, waste management and property development.  Clients (who range from large multi nationals, SMEs and individuals) report that “he works well to tight timetables and is committed to getting things over the line”.

Outside the office

David is a family man and an avid Saracens fan – travelling all over Europe to watch Saracens (and enjoy a few drinks with the opposition fans!!).  Due to a number of his clients being involved in this industry (and his son’s chosen work field) David has become a trustee of Backup – The Technical Entertainment Charity which provides financial support to industry technical professionals working in live events, theatre, TV and film.
