The Chambers Global High Net Worth (HNW) 2021 Guide – which ranks lawyers in specialist high net worth areas of law – has announced the results from its latest edition.

Recognised as one of the leading independent legal directories in the world, the Chambers HNW Guide has ranked B P Collins’ partner Matthew Brandis, a specialist in private wealth disputes, and senior associate Dominic Ibbs, a private wealth law expert, for the first time. Private wealth partner Lucy Wood; private wealth disputes partner, Craig Williams and high value residential property partner, Martina Razaq have all retained their rankings.

The Chambers HNW Guide notes that private wealth disputes partner, Matthew Brandis, “always delivers an excellent service; he is willing to go beyond his call of duty,” and he is “quick to respond to…concerns and [is] transparent in regards to expectations.”

The Guide regards Dominic Ibbs as an ‘associate to watch’ in private wealth law after finding that he is “sought after by high net worth individuals and families.” A source enthuses: “He is thoughtful, intelligent, creative and a very reassuring voice for clients who are worried or concerned about complex financial matters. He is also able to distil difficult subjects into easy-to-understand discussions and then follows up in a timely manner.”

Private Wealth Law ranked individual, partner Lucy Wood, is described by clients as “technical…very straightforward and clear in her advice” while Private Wealth Disputes partner Craig Williams is known to be conscientious, tenacious and works at 110% for his clients”. High Value Residential partner, Martina Razaq, is valued for her “attention to detail and responsiveness.”

B P Collins’ high value residential property and private wealth law teams have also been recognised for their outstanding services to high net worth clients for a third and fourth year respectively.

“B P Collins is a very professional organisation and holds itself out to high standards which are continuously met,” says a client about the property team, who adds: “From the moment a matter is opened, they set out the process clearly and provide helpful guidance along the way. They work as a seamless team and cover each other's absences without any disruption to service.”

The private wealth team is also highly regarded by the Guide with one source saying it is: “…personable and approachable and able to think in real-world terms, which helps from the non legal perspective.” Another comment: “Their strong points are building a team around the case at an early point in any potential litigation and working with that team through until the conclusion of the case.”
