B P Collins is delighted to reveal that the Chambers High Net Worth (HNW) Guide for 2024 continues to rank its private wealth law and private wealth disputes’ practices in Band 1 in their regions – the guide’s highest ranking. The high value residential team also retains its high ranking.

Individual rankings

Martina Razaq, a partner in the residential property team, moves up a ranking to her highest position to date.

Sharon Heselton, a principal lawyer in the private wealth law team is ranked for the first time, while Dominic Ibbs, also a principal lawyer in the team, retains his high ranking alongside partner and practice group leader, Lucy Wood.

Private wealth dispute partners, Matthew Brandis and Craig Williams continue to retain their high rankings.

High value residential property practice

The Chambers HNW Guide reports that B P Collins’ high value residential property team’s “…strengths are certainly very good communication, prompt and efficient action and a willingness and desire to be successful. For them, this is not just a job to get done with.

This is strongly supported by another client who says: “The firm was extremely competent in outlining the process, providing clear and timely communication and managing issues promptly with counterparties. They deliver on client expectations very well.

On Martina Razaq, a residential property partner who regularly advises high net worth buyers and sellers on high-value transactions in Buckinghamshire and London, one client states she, “has great attention to detail and keeps us updated on things throughout, which is very important. You know that everyone is looked after as she is incredibly responsive.”

Another says, “I would rate Martina as a good lawyer for sure. She is responsive, she removes obstacles in the way and works to find a solution.”

Private wealth teams

According to a client interviewed by Chambers, B P Collins, “is an excellent firm to work for the clients’ benefit. They don’t try to give simple options where something that requires a bit more thought would yield a better outcome for the client.”

Another said, “I never felt that there were questions I had that B P Collins did not have logical, sensible, credible and expedient answers for.”

Private wealth law practice

Practice group leader, Lucy Wood, who advises clients on wills and lasting powers of attorney, as well as trust matters and estate administration, is, according to one client, “a real leader in that team.” Another adds, “Lucy is a very efficient lawyer in dealing with difficult estates.”

Dominic Ibbs, a qualified notary public, who advises on trusts and estate administration, is reported to be, “very knowledgeable, quick to respond and highly qualified,” and, “very diligent, friendly and approachable.”

Another client, advised byprobate and estate planning specialist, Sharon Heselton, who has been ranked for the first time, says: “I cannot imagine being better looked after and supported during an emotional time than I was by (her). She was kind, professional and at all times ‘all over’ my brief.”

Private wealth disputes practice

It reports that clients rate practice group leader, Matthew Brandis, who has particular expertise in contentious inheritance disputes, claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975 and disputes regarding the administration of trusts and estates, because he, “…is an excellent solicitor with extremely sound legal skills and expertise as well as very strong client skills.” Another adds, “he is the best. He is sympathetic and caring and listened to me when I needed support the most.”

The guide also says that the “exceptional” Craig Williams, represents clients in complex, high-value contentious trust and estate matters. One impressed client explains that:

He is calm, clever and honourable and always keeps me updated with issues. He is simply outstanding at what he does.

Senior partner, Simon Deans says:

“This has been an outstanding year for B P Collins in the Chambers High Net Worth Guide. We are thrilled that our clients have taken the time to provide such incredible feedback. Words such as, “good communication”, “looked after and supported”, “incredibly responsive” and “delivering on client expectations,” are embedded into our culture and is what makes us unique. Congratulations to everyone involved.”

B P Collins’ rankings and client feedback are available to view on the Chambers HNW website.
