B P Collins is delighted to announce that dispute resolution lawyer, Rajiv Malhotra is promoted to partner.
Recognised as a ‘Rising star’ by independent legal directory, The Legal 500, Rajiv’s principal practice areas are commercial litigation and construction, working with a broad spectrum of clients, from individuals to multi-million pound businesses. Rajiv specialises in a wide range of pre-action, County Court and High Court litigation involving consumer protection, shareholder and director disputes, consumer and commercial debt recovery, general contract disputes and construction matters.
Rajiv was also part of the B P Collins’ team which advised a well-known waste management business in successfully defending a £3million claim during a High Court trial. This led to a reported decision that set legal precedent in respect of accepting a Part 36 settlement offer during trial.
B P Collins’ award-winning property practice promotes Emily Halley to senior associate. Recognised as an ‘associate to watch’ by Chambers UK, Emily advises both corporate and individual clients on all aspects of commercial property law – including acquisitions, sales, landlord and tenant matters and high-value and complex transactions.
Specialising in property disputes, Manjot Dhillon, who was shortlisted for Young Lawyer of the Year at Insider Media’s South East Young Professionals Awards last year, is promoted to senior associate. Manjot has a particular focus on residential landlord and tenant matters including possession matters, service charge disputes and disputes relating to breaches of lease covenants and leasehold enfranchisement. She also has experience in boundary disputes, easements disputes such as rights of way, the interpretation of restrictive covenants affecting land and commercial landlord and tenant matters.
Meanwhile, Lisa McBrearty has been promoted to senior associate in the private client practice. With over 18 years of experience in helping clients with their future planning and a full member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP), Lisa advises on estate planning, including the preparation of Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney, and also deals with the administration of estates and Court of Protection work, including Deputyship applications.
Simon Deans, senior partner, said: “Each lawyer has made an incredible contribution both to their practice and to the firm over the years. They are technically excellent lawyers, always seeking to find the best solution for their clients and committed mentors to other team members. Their promotions are well deserved.”
With more than 120 people now employed across its three offices in Thame, Gerrards Cross and London, and having recently achieved Lexcel accreditation, awarded only to top-tier firms – B P Collins has provided legal advice to businesses and individuals for nearly 60 years.
