Our story:
Founded by Brian Collins in 1966, B P Collins has grown into a multi practice firm serving commercial and high net worth individual clients in London, the Thames Valley and beyond. We’ve built a reputation for high-quality work combined with a pragmatic approach and exceptional standards of service.
From our origins in Gerrards Cross, which remains our flagship office today, we now have offices in Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and the City with clients across the country. The firm’s success stems from a desire to help clients achieve their goals and make life easier. We pioneer. We solve problems. We influence legal outcomes.
Strong core values underpin our work and relationships both within the firm and with our clients:
Dedication: We are dedicated to our client’s cause providing understanding and guidance
Teamwork: We work as a team with our clients and each other
Availability: We are available to our clients and each other to get things done
Approachable: We are approachable, attentive and supportive in every interaction
Trusted: We are trusted to provide the best legal advice to our clients
Our future
We are strongly committed to substantial client, revenue and geographical growth, all of which open up broad and exciting work and opportunities for career advancement.
As we continue to expand, it is important that we still retain our inclusive and caring culture in which people have the freedom to learn, are inspired to think differently and encouraged to build strong relationships with each other and our clients.
“Our growth ambitions create opportunities for our people to develop and progress in a fun, successful and sustainable business…’
Simon Deans, Senior Partner

Exceptional people
Above all else, we value our people and the wide-ranging perspectives, ideas and experience they contribute. Our talented and diverse legal and operations teams thrive on deepening their knowledge, challenging themselves and working collaboratively with each other.
We also firmly believe that working hard should be coupled with learning and having fun. Our past exploits have included (seriously) Tough Mudder challenges, a (death defying) hiking trip to Trolltunga in Norway as well as (really fun) painting and prosecco evenings and summer parties.
Award winning teams
Our commercial, private client and operations teams are cohesive, collegiate and continually evolving with many of the legal teams being regarded as some of the best in their fields. We maintain top tier ranking in the independent legal directories, Legal 500, Chambers UK and Chambers HNW as well as being listed in The Times Best Law Firms since 2022.
Commitment to diversity
We firmly believe in the fairness and benefits of fostering diversity and inclusion in relation to our teams, clients and the wider community.
Our culture promotes a respectful, supportive workplace environment in which people feel accepted, experience a sense of belonging and are actively encouraged to unite across their differences.
Our diversity, equity & inclusion committee helps to ensure that we address policy issues and that diversity remains a key focus across the business with the aim of achieving better gender balance, racial and ethnic representation, and inclusion of LGBTQ+ and differently abled individuals.
Social responsibility
We are active participants in the wider community and have been awarded gold accreditation for our corporate social responsibility work which is a core part of our business.
Our social responsibility initiatives encompass pro bono work, legal education support, volunteer programs, charitable contributions and responsible business practices which include environmental sustainability. Through this coordinated approach, we aim to continually increase our responsibilities to positively impact our continually changing world.

Career development and training
We have no “one-size-fits-all” approach to developing our people as we recognise they are all individuals with their own unique set of skills and experiences. We are committed to supporting these diversities whilst providing fair and equal training and work opportunities to all to enable everyone to grow and realise their full potential.
From day one, our new joiners attend a comprehensive orientation program that familiarises them with their team, the work, and the firm. They are also assigned a peer “buddy” as a more informal support.
In addition to technical skills training, each year, we offer different soft skills training programmes which cover a range of topics such as leadership and business development, supervision and time management. In addition, our people benefit from an e learning and development platform which is continually updated with new material from key contributors who are experts in their fields.
We understand that a lawyer’s professional development is supported by exposure to a wide range of partners as well as consistent access to good quality work with progressive levels of responsibility. Our teams ensure that lawyers, at every stage of their careers, receive a steady stream of meaningful work and constructive feedback on their performance whilst helping them to manage their caseloads and build networks within their practice groups and the wider firm.
Partners and Business Support Managers play key roles in the firm’s personal development review process providing coaching and support to their teams as they progress in their careers.
Structured career frameworks provide clarity around roles together with benchmarks for promotion.
