Chambers UK one of the UK’s leading legal directories, has announced its results for 2024 with B P Collins LLP retaining strong rankings for its practices and lawyers, with more individuals being recognised this year.
New individuals recognised
Joining the Band 1 Environment team, Jonothan Moss is recognised for the first time as a ‘Band 1’ lawyer for his criminal expertise in the sector. He is held in high regard in the market and is noted for his ability to provide counsel on matters relating to environmental breaches and permitting issues. Chambers UK also notes that he is “a very experienced solicitor in the field of environment and litigation” adding that he is “commercially minded,” and leads a “respected criminal law practice.”
Property partner and practice group leader, Alison Taylor jumps up two ranks for being a, “…very experienced solicitor in the field of environment and litigation.” Clients support this with one saying, “I have found Alison to be an exceptional solicitor,” with another adding, “Alison is an excellent technical lawyer with great commercial awareness.”
Meanwhile, the “personable and knowledgeable,” property partner, Maria Mowberry moves up a rank after Chambers UK reports she is a key member of the team, advising both landlords and tenants on commercial and residential property-related work. One testimonial reads, “Maria thinks dynamically and clearly under time pressure.”

B P Collins is delighted to learn that its corporate, environment and family teams receive ‘Band 1’ rankings again. While employment, dispute resolution, crime and property practices all retain their high rankings.
Band 1 rankings for individuals
Many lawyers from across the firm retain the highest status awarded by Chambers. Craig Williams in litigation and environment, Jo Davis in employment, Sue Andrews in family, David Smellie in corporate and commercial and Alex Zachary in environment, all achieve a ‘Band 1’.

Other lawyers who continue to maintain their rankings in the top two tiers are Matthew Brandis, head of dispute resolution and Alex Zachary, head of corporate and commercial. Emily Halley, property associate, retains her ranking, as do Simon Carroll, dispute resolution partner and Simon Deans, corporate and commercial partner.
